Long and Cross Sections

Creating Verticals (CSD Strings)

In order to extract long and cross section sheets, users must first sample the alignment.  The command Create Verticals does this - as part of the creation process you select the surface to act as the base (existing) surface and the spacings along the alignment.  By default, all geometry points on the alignment will be included in the outputs of long and cross sections, and you can select intermediate spacings to apply along straights and through arcs.

Setout

It may be desired to generate a .csv file of points along your selected CSD String.  This video explores the options to generate a .csv file, as well as add a table to the drawing.

Cross Section Sheets

Once you have a CSD String created using the Add Verticals command, you can then extract cross section sheets.

Long Section Sheets

Once your CSD String/s is/are created, you can extract Long Sections showing the surfaces.
