Multi String Edit

Introduction

This comand allows users to make bulk edits to multiple strings.

This command is extremely useful to efficiently change:

Note: Only alignments ticked on for Calculate will be edited.  The Calculate flag isn't automatically selected if parameters for a string are edited in the list view.

Details

Upon selecting the command the following form is displayed:


 

[Strings List]

List of strings with current settings controls.  Change settings and tick on to 'Calculate' to apply the changes

   Calculate

Toggle on to apply these Settings to the selected String.  If unticked, no changes are applied

   String Name

Name of the string (non editable)

   Type

String type (non editable)

   Surface

Pick a Surface to be the Sampled Surface for the String

   Tangent Spacing

Type in a tangent spacing

   Arc Spacing

Type in an arc spacing

   Spiral Spacing

Type in a spiral spacing

   Template

Pick a Template to apply to the String
Note: if multiple Templates are currently applied to the String, this field is not applied

Selected Edit

Allows bulk edits to be applied to highlighted Strings.

  Surface

Pick a Surface and tick Apply to have it change selected Strings

  Tangent Spacing

Type in a Tangent Spacing and tick Apply to have it change selected Strings

  Arc Spacing

Type in an Arc Spacing and tick Apply to have it change selected Strings

  Spiral Spacing

Type in a Spiral Spacing and tick Apply to have it change selected Strings

  Template

Pick a Template and tick Apply to have it change selected Strings

  Override Selected

Click to apply the selected edits to all highlighted strings in the Strings List.  Changes will be applied to the selected strings and Calculate will be ticked on.
Note: Before clicking this button, use [shift]+[left click] and [ctrl]+[left click] to select to apply the changes to multiple strings listed (highlight multiple strings)

Calculate Strings

Applies changes to all Strings flagged with Calculate.

Zoom/Pan

Click on this button to enable temporary zooming and panning in the drawing. Left click or press [esc] to return to the form.
